As part of our analytical service, we disseminate methodological tools to assist analysts in the production of standardised public health indicators and measures. These include validated population denominators and trajectories, life expectancy by cause methods, rate and confidence intervals calculators, and website development and GIS processes. We aim to develop new methodologies and promote and support their use across the public health community in the North West region.

Claimant Data May 2007
Benefits analysis:  standardised claimant ratios (England=100) for 8 benefit types. Northwest LSOAs as at May 2007. Numerator data was from the Department for Work and Pensions (http://www.dwp.gov.uk/asd/tabtool.asp). All numerators have been rounded to base 5. Population denominators were revised mid-2005 estimates from ONS. Note that denominators vary according to type of benefit.11/01/2008
